The University Grants Commission (UGC) and McGill University of Canada have jointly announced a PhD fellowship program named UGC-McGill PhD Fellowship Program. Applications are invited for this program from interested students of public university faculties in Bangladesh. Applicants must complete the application process by August 14, 2024 (Canada Standard Time and Date).

Benefits that fellows will get
*15,000 Canadian dollars per annum as living expenses
*1100 Canadian dollars as health and leading insurance
*9800 Canadian dollars as annual gallery support
*3000 Canadian dollars as air travel.
In addition, fellows will receive 20,214 Canadian dollars annually as full tuition. PhD students will be funded for up to four years.
Apply for Fellowship McGill University
A package of documents required for application is provided on the website of FCS (Federation Commission for Scholarships) at the time of announcement of Government Excellence Scholarship. Following documents are to be prepared as per this package
1. Computer typed and printed FCS application form with handwritten signature of the student
2. A complete CV with a list of academic publications and achievements
3. A motivation letter of maximum two pages

4. A complete research proposal of maximum five pages, signed by the student
5. Copy of invitation letter from the Swiss university professor, stating why he/she wants to supervise the student’s research. In this case, his short CV should be attached to the letter
6. Recommendation letters from two different professors using the FCS Recommendation Form
7. Attested photocopies of all educational certificates and transcripts translated into English
8. Health certificate as per FCS form
9. Student’s passport size photocopy.
In case of private scholarships, such documents are more or less required. However, each university’s application process is different. So it is necessary to know the details well from their respective websites.
